The headlines of the news on Israel's radio this morning were disturbing

The headlines of the news on Israel's radio this morning were disturbing.
Firstly, our Prime Minister's face to face encounter with President Obama brought no resolution to the American Administration's demand for Israel to stop building in Jerusalem. "It is our capital City," Netanyahu reiterates, reminding the world that in Israel's agreement to freeze building in Judea and Samaria for ten months, it was specifically stated that this would not include a freeze in Jerusalem.
Secondly, Jordan's King Abdullah said Israel was "playing with fire" with their statements about Jerusalem.
Thirdly, the United Nations’ Foreign Minister, Catherine Ashton, was quoted blasting Israel.
Fourthly, Syria said it was ready to talk with Israel, but didn't trust anything Israel said.
Fifthly, Britain is expelling a certain Israeli diplomat in connection with Israel's alleged involvement in the Dubai assassination of a Hamas leader. Australia is now considering doing the same. "Is only Israel to be condemned for its part in the war against terrorism?" an Israeli diplomat asks.
Sixthly, the United Nations has just passed three more resolutions against Israel, (bringing the number of resolutions against Israel in the past seventy years to a figure that reveals more about the United Nations than about Israel.)
When all this is announced in one day's morning news, it reminds us that another “Day” is not far away, that day when "all the nations will gather to battle against Jerusalem" (Zech.14:1,2). But Zechariah does have “good news” for us, for he also tells us that “in that day a fountain shall be opened for the house of David and for the inhabitants of Jerusalem, for sin and uncleanness."
At this time of year Israeli housewives have been preoccupied with cleaning out their houses for Passover, cleaning out leaven from their cupboards and washing their homes thoroughly with water. All this cleaning raises a question in the minds of some. Just yesterday a Jewish believing friend, while purchasing goods for Passover, was asked, “But how can we be clean inwardly?”
“Oh water will not clean away sin,” she replied. “Only blood.” She promised to come again and speak to the wife of the shopkeeper. For all the world's accusations against Israel, their most convincing accuser remains their own hearts.
