From the Director
Rev. Roger L. Wambold
October, 2006
Dear Friend,
One of the highlights of last month was a visit from a gifted
Israeli believer with whose ministry we at HCF have been led
to associate. It was my privilege to introduce him to folks
in the U.S. in small group meetings and several church services
where he gave his testimony and spoke of the ministry to which
God has called him in Israel.
In describing the challenges and opportunities facing the church
in "the Land," this brother shared, from a very personal
point of view, how the number of Israeli Jewish believers has
dramatically grown in the last half century. He told us that
his father-in-law was born in the 1940's to one of only three
families of Jewish Christians in the whole country. When his
wife was born in the 1960's there were ten Jewish Christian
families, and now there are between eight and ten thousand believing
Jews in Israel. Praise God! There can be no doubt that the Spirit
of God is moving in Jewish souls, breathing eternal life into
them, in anticipation of that time prophesied in Ezekiel 38:10:
. . .and the breath came into them, and they lived, and
stood up upon their feet, an exceedingly great army.
(emphasis added)
Humanly speaking, the growth in the number of Jewish believers
is the product of persistent faithful witness over the years,
even in the absence of visible results, motivated by love of
God and love of His chosen people.
Hebrew Christian Fellowship has had a Gospel outreach in Israel
since the mid 1950's which continues to the present and is,
in fact, rapidly expanding. Fervent prayers and financial support
from God’s people have made it possible for the work to
continue, in spite of many days of opposition and discouragement.
All praise and honor go to Him for what has been accomplished
through vessels of clay.
Sincerely in Messiah Jesus,
Rev. Roger L. Wambold,
General Director
