The Bethel Congregation:

The conflict between Jews and Arabs is so widely known that even a slapstick American comedy from the 90s was able to elicit chuckles when, after a schmaltzy, let’s-all-come-together speech, various groups representing those in long-standing conflicts embrace one another giddily, among them a Hasidic Jew and an Arab, each dressed in full cultural garb, each now smiling happily. Though such spoofs may elicit happy chuckles, this conflict is serious, saddening, and often violent. How blessed, then, it is when Jews and Arabs do come together, not due to silly speeches, but because of the Gospel of Jesus Christ which changes the hearts and minds of all those whom God chooses to quicken.

A local congregation of Arab believers in Haifa, Israel has set itself upon such a work. Led by elders Kamil, Tony, and Fred, the Bethel Local Church serves the minority (and often overlooked) group in Israel of believing Arabs. These men lead those whose hearts have been changed by the power of the risen Savior through regular worship meetings, evangelistic outreach, and events designed to bring Jews and Arabs together in fellowship. These Christians show love for all God’s people, while still holding a particular passion for the spiritual welfare of their own Arab brothers and sisters.

Another anecdote, almost too good to be true, tells of an event when Jews and Arabs sat together and enjoyed a picnic lunch while their children played together. This story comes not from Hollywood, but from the place where it actually happened: Haifa, Israel, when those who love Yeshua love all His people.

The mission of Hebrew Christian Fellowship is to lovingly and sensitively present the Gospel of Messiah Jesus to Jewish people.
